Sacred Heart was delighted to welcome Holly Cairns TD to the school today as guest speaker at the TY Graduation. The ceremony, which was also online, showcased the amazing achievements of the TY students over the past year.

Holly spoke to the girls about gender equality, managing the stress of the Leaving Cert, and appreciating their parents. She also outlined how impressed she was by the range of activities that our TY students got to experience, in spite of the Covid restrictions.

‘One thing that I’m sure of is that the quickest way for us to get to gender equality is by working together. Supporting women, supporting each other - that is integral and my absolute favourite thing,’ she said.

‘Remember to support each other loudly, clearly and unashamedly.’

She said that today marked her first graduation as a TD. We were truly honoured to have her as guest speaker.

Holly kindly brought ‘More Mná’ badges for the delighted students.

Her parting words were, ‘In every single thing you do, have fun doing it.’
