The Globe at Sacred Heart!

The much anticipated TY production of ‘Romeo and Juliet’ was performed for the first time today. Two third year classes, 3.1 and 3.2, saw the play in a socially distanced GPR. The balcony was adorned with roses and a ‘Welcome to Verona’ sign was centre-stage. Anachronistic music made the whole experience even more exciting and the costumes were spectacular. The whole team ensured that the show moved along without any problems, with particular thanks to the stage hands who efficiently moved props when required.

Due to Covid-19, the traditional Sacred Heart musical had to be cancelled. The TY students, naturally disappointed, took the initiative to take on Shakespeare themselves. Under the direction of TY student, Aoibhe Daly, and under the supervision of Mr Browne, they practised after school and at weekends, determined to learn their lines and give it their best shot.

Two more performances are scheduled for tomorrow. Well done, girls!
