Financial literacy

Today Tuesday May 11th, Transition Year students were delivered a Financial Literacy Programmes by Rob Heffernan of The Bank Of Ireland. Rob needs little introduction as the 2013 World 50km Racewalking champion and 2012 Olympic Bronze Medalist. During this presentation Rob spoke of the importance of a good credit profile for a job, renting, car insurances, house buying.He placed emphasis on the very interesting question .. “Why are we tempted by Stuff ?” The students were also given tips on compiling a CV and Interview Skills were also discussed.

This workshop ended with a presentation by Ms Claire O Donovan on the advantages of LCVP as a subject foe Leaving Cert.
