1st year Camogie blitz

Our first years had a wonderful first day back after the Midterm break yesterday as they ventured to the Camogie Grounds in Cork City for a Camogie blitz with Ms Shanahan. While neither team was fortunate enough to win on the day, it was a great day out nonetheless. The 37 students got to mix with other friends in their year group they may not ordinarily meet, they got some fresh air, sunshine and exercise and we hope that we continue to see such large numbers playing Camogie throughout their time at Sacred Heart. Winning is well and good but is not the ‘be all and end all’ and it is important that we continue to encourage all young players, particularly females, to keep playing sports as long as possible and instil a love for sport as opposed to a love of winning.
