SHSS Paris Trip 2022 - Day 3

Disneyland Paris - Entrez dans la magie!

What a fabulous day! The sun was shining as we headed off to Disneyland Paris. While we were waiting to enter the park, the students started a singsong. It went from Lady Gaga to Grace, all in front of a bemused crowd. Some even clapped!

The roller coasters were amazing! The Tower of Terror was so scary but exhilarating. Ms Bell nearly took the arm off Mr Browne in fright. Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain was fast and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom took the wind out of us. Poor Ms Meade was nervous about going on Indiana Jones but overcame her fears and did it!

Sleeping Beauty’s castle looked like something out of a fairy tale with the blue sky in the background. Lots of Mickey Mouse ears were purchased, along with crepes, ice creams and candy floss.

Dinner was at Planet Hollywood which was great fun. We had a three course meal and there was music pumping. Big screens showed clips from Dirty Dancing and at one stage, the teachers and the students sang Bohemian Rhapsody at the top of their voices. Mr Browne ordered his favourite: tea with milk, or as he says en francais: thé au lait!

Highlights of the day:

  1. The Tower of Terror. What a brilliant experience. Would recommend.

  2. Mr Browne shooting his Buzz Lightyear gun like James Bond. Skilled.

  3. Ms Holland and Ms Shanahan shooting their laser guns, moving in sync, steely and analytical. Science teachers!

  4. The staff at Planet Hollywood. They were so nice.

  5. Meabh Flynn and Orlaith Deasy meeting Alison Hammond by chance and taking a selfie with her.

  6. The 30th anniversary Disney parade down Main Street, USA.

  7. The Tower of Terror. Did I mention that already?

    Lowest point of the day:

    1. Ms Bell trying to rap to Eminem. Roisin O Carroll got a video. Enough said.
