SHSS Wins All Ireland TY Drama Festival!

We would like to congratulate our amazing TY students on winning the All Ireland TY Drama Festival 2021. Their performance of Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ scooped the top prize: The Mullingar Perpetual Cup. Aoibhe Daly won the Michael Twomey Perpetual Cup for Best Director. The production also won a trophy for Best Costumes.

The TY Class of 2021 faced a challenging year with Covid restrictions inhibiting much of the traditional Transition Year experience. However, these intrepid students did not let the pandemic stop them from following their dreams. Their innovation, hard work and dedication paid off this evening.
