SHSS Alumnae Link - Aislinn Campbell

Welcome to SHSS Alumnae Link!

This is where we connect with past pupils and find out what they’re up to now.

This week we linked with Aislinn Campbell who graduated in 2017.

Name and position:

Aislinn Campbell – Human Resources.

Lives: I just finished university in Limerick, and I am moving to Odense, Denmark next month.

Best memory of Sacred Heart: Our last weeks of school, such as pyjama day, our marching band, our dance parties in the ref, our bouncy castle on sports day, and pranks (sorry!)

What were your favourite classes? Accounting.

Tell us about your career progression to date:

I finished my Bachelor of Business Studies in UL last week. I majored in Human Resource Management and took Entrepreneurship as a minor.

  • Through this degree I had the opportunity to study abroad in Hong Kong for a semester and to complete a HR internship in Kemp Technologies.

  • I now work as a student volunteer in the HR team for The Considerate Consumer, we provide easy-to-implement tips on how to live more sustainably and detailed information on sustainable consumption choices. Check out their site here

  • I am moving to Denmark next month to continue my studies in HR.

If you weren’t in the job you have, what would you be doing?

I considered pursuing both accounting and Engineering in school. My interest in these options were definitely as a result of how much I enjoyed classes with Ms O’Donovan and Mr Pegler.

Advice you would give your teenage self:

That things will work out – and all the stress really is not worth it! Also, to appreciate all of the positive things in life and to not only focus on the negatives. I could definitely still do with giving this advice to my adult self too!

Favourite quote or motto?

“Accept your light and let it shine to create your own lighthouse on a stormy night”

What is your hidden talent?

  • I am great at solving problems for others and finding solutions – unfortunately, I sometimes fail to follow my own advice!

  • I am a Monopoly champion… (if my sisters tell you I cheat, they’re lying!)

Huge thanks to Aislinn for taking the time to answer our questions.

See you soon for the next instalment of SHSS Alumnae Link.
