Leaving Cert Online Graduation

The Class of 2021 enjoyed an online graduation ceremony last night via Google Meet. Sixth year students and their families joined Ms Brosnan, Mr Walsh and teachers for a wonderful compilation of memories and meaningful words.

The ceremony was a mixture of live broadcasts and prerecorded clips. Leaving Cert students showcased their talents singing songs, playing various instruments, and speaking about their hopes for the future. There was even a group dance routine on the tennis courts to the sound of Niall Horan.

Fr Aidan blessed the girls as they continue their journey through life. Candles were lit as the theme of the graduation was ‘Light’, inspired by the poet, Amanda Gorman. There was also a video of the teachers waving goodbye to the sixth years to the tune or ‘So Long, Farewell’ from The Sound of Music. Frank singing ‘Cuckoo!’ was definitely a highlight.

There were short clips from the students’ peer mentors, wishing them the best. There were also clips from past pupils, Martina O’Brien and Melissa Duggan, who no doubt inspired the girls with their advice.

Huge thanks to the R.E. Department and the Music Department for their hard work in making this event so special. Thanks to Ms Brosnan and Mr Walsh, and to Mr Kiely, the 6th year Year Head, for all their help and support over the years. Finally, a massive thank you to Mr Browne for his hard work and dedication. He worked tirelessly to produce the fabulous presentation we witnessed last night.
