Teachers Versus Students Football Match!

The annual battle between teachers and Leaving Certs took place today at the astroturf. The match kicked off at lunchtime and was nail-bitingly close. Mr Pegler’s dog, Tilly, was a makeshift referee/mascot. She scampered around the pitch, watching for fouls and keeping tabs on the players.

At one stage, the ball hit Mr Kiely and he fell to the ground dramatically, in true footballer style. The match went to penalties. Mr Walsh was in goal as Leaving Certs students kicked the ball straight past him into the net. The sixth years emerged victorious, delighted with their win.

The match was in aid of Marymount Hospice and MS Ireland.
