Keep Active !!

Many thanks to our PE teacher Ms O’Flynn, Mr Cronin & Mr Browne who have put together some resources to help keep you fit and active as you work and study from home.

A few ideas for this week.

  • Often overlooked, walking is one of the best forms of exercise you can get. Something as simple as going for a brisk 20 min walk will get the heart pumping and help to clear your head. Please be sure to follow the HSE guidelines on social distancing if you are heading outdoors.

  1. Keep a space of 2 metres (6.5 feet) between you and other people.

  2. Avoid crowded places.

  3. Don't shake hands or make close contact with others where possible.

  • Attached is an Activity Log. This will let you track the types of activities and exercise you have carried out. Set yourself a simple goal each day, for example a 20 min walk and fill out your log afterwards. You may be surprised to see just how active you are.

  • Roll the Dice Fitness Challenge - Attached - All you need is your sitting room, kitchen or bedroom and some water.

  • If you want to work on your overall fitness the DAREBEE website has some excellent workouts for beginners and more challenging workouts for the advanced.    https://darebee.com/

  • Free Apps - Yoga and 7 Minute Workout - The Down Dog app are making all their workouts free on Android & IOS until April 1st.  There are lots of other great free apps available on the Apps Store and Play Store.

  • There are endless online resources for different exercises, activities and games but here are just a few to get you started.
