The Curtain Falls on Romeo and Juliet

The final performances of the TY production of Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ took place today in the GPR.

The remaining third year groups,3.3 and 3.4, got to enjoy the play today. The two casts donned their costumes and swords once more, and the stage came to life.

After rapturous applause and many bows, Sinéad Murphy, a.k.a. The Prince of Verona, made a lovely speech, thanking the cast and crew for their hard work. She also thanked the TY Coordinator, Ms Harte and of course, the TY Year Head, Mr Barry. Then she turned to the amazing Mr Browne and praised him for all his dedication and support over the past few months. Appreciation was also expressed for Ms Brosnan and Mr Walsh who gave this amazing, innovative project the go ahead. Finally, the TY student who produced and directed the play, Aoibhe Daly, received a bunch of flowers and a generous present from her thoughtful fellow students.

The curtain has fallen on this 2020 version of the famous play. Bravo to all involved. It was a triumph!
