Biology Class conduct Bio Blitz in Mount Carmel Hospital.

Nurse Paula Kingston a member of the newly formed Green Team in Clonakilty hospital invited students to do a bio blitz in the hospital grounds. In other words, identifying and cataloging what kind of wildlife and plants were on the site. The Transition year Biology class visited the hospital on October 7th, with their teacher Mr O’Sullivan. They met with Nurse Paula Kingston, received some refreshments, and have since made their recommendations following their research

Report from Students:

"On Monday the 7th of October, we visited Mount Carmel Hospital. We walked there and one of the nurses met us at the front entrance. We each got a report sheet on which we wrote down what observations we made, the environmental review and any recommendations we came up with. Our class identified the plants and trees and thought about what staff members could do to receive a green flag. The staff were very nice and we really enjoyed the trip" - Zoe and Dasha
