What is 121 digital ?
12 1digital is a program in which our Transition Year students take on the role of TUTOR , to teach digital skills to a LEARNER ,who lives or works in the local community .This is the fifth year our Transition Year students have shared their knowledge with people from our community and surrounding parishes.
How Does 121 digital Work ?
Each 121 digital course is tailored to the individual needs of each Learner – Each Learner chooses their topics/ discusses with their Tutor what they want to learn.Tutors work one-to-one with them. Learners are invited to bring their laptop, tablet and/or smartphone to our school to our Transition Year students (Tutor) who shares their digital skills under the guidance of members of the Community Awareness Department .Courses comprise approximately 8 hours of tuition during 4, 5 or 6 lessons, one lesson per week. Learners are encouraged to practice between lessons – to reinforce their learning. Certificates of course completion are awarded to Learners (and to Tutors).... and lessons are FREE.
Our classes started here in Sacred Heart Wednesday January 29th between 2 and 3.15 pm. There is also a class here on Thursday at the same time. There are places available for the Thursday class.If interested please call the school at 023/8833737.
The students are on Work Placement at the moment so classes will not resume again until Wednesday February 26th ,and Thursday Feb 27th.
