The Pope John Paul II Award
Congratulations to Saoirse Whelton, Ciara,Collins,Lauren Eady, Sinead Crowley, Caoimhe Ni Bhuachalla, Sara O Sullivan and Sinead Walsh who completed the required activities necessary to receive the Pope John Paul 11 Gold Award during their Transition Year.The girls were presented with this prestigious Award in the Church of the Immaculate Conception , Clonakilty, on Sunday May 12th, by the Bishop of Cork and Ross, Fintan Gavin
Well done to the Girls on their very active ,valuable , and significant ,work here in the school Community, but also in the surrounding Parishes to which they belong. This includes, Clonakilty, Darrara , Barryroe and Timoleague.
A special thank you to Mrs Sheila Gilbert , the Parish Co Ordinator , and Ms Ann Marie Brosnan, Principal of Sacred Heart,who encouraged, and supported, the girls through their journey,

The Pope John Paul II Award was created to commemorate the late Pope John Paul II who was committed to young people ,and who had a great belief ,and confidence in them.
This John Paul II Award has been created to commemorate the late Pope John Paul II who had a profound love for, and belief in young people. He recognised that they are indeed very much part of today’s Church, a Church that needs their great generosity of spirit ,and their idealism.
