VEX Robotics Competition
On the 2nd of March, the Robotics Gang ventured off to Kinsale to participate in our first ever (practice) VEX Robotics Competition! We were against Kinsale Community School and Glanmire Community College.
The students involved were Sinead O Mahony,Emma Hayes, Tea Cronin, Katelyn O Regan and Niamh Dineen.
VEX Robotics Competition is a robotics competition for schools all around the world. In this competition, teams design, build, and program robots to compete at tournaments.
The game consisted of a minute driving controlled period and a 15 second Autonomous Period, with three of each. The object of the game is to attain a higher score than the opposing team. The practice competition was a wonderful opportunity to get a sense of what the opposition are bringing to the arena. We were so inspired by the other teams and can now apply what we have learned to our own robot, making it better than before!
Overall, Kinsale was a great day out and we look forward to the tournament starting in April. Many thanks to Mr Kiely for his continued support, guidance and advice!
