SH OSCARS
The Transition Year Class Reps held the first SH-Oscars on Friday February 11th. Students organised this event under the guidance and supervision of our TY Co Ordinator,Ms. Harte.
We wanted our TY Activity Week to finish with something memorable, which is when our idea for the SH-Oscars was born.
The event began with an opening performance by the 'Moms' singing karaoke. Next our MC for the day, Aimee Mulcahy kicked off the event. Firstly we provided awards for the 'Most Likely To...' per class which was decided by a poll we sent out a few days prior. Some of the winners included, Cliona O'Brien, Keri O'Donovan, Roseleen Boahen, and Orla Whelton who won Most Likely To End Up On Broadway, and Ruth Sutton, Esther Scallan-Dowd, Alanah Harrington, and Amy McCarthy who won Most Likely to Become A Millionaire. Next we had an interlude in which Niamh Dineen, played a piece called 'Romance' on the piano and we played a slideshow of pictures taken from Term 1 which prompted a couple aw's from the audience!
Following the interlude, we gave out prizes for the Best...', some of the winners included; Best Hair which was awarded to Michaela Vrablikova, Best Beekeeper won by Mr.Barry, and Best Comedian awarded to Adiba Akhter.
Next everyone played Kahoot, which was hosted by Mia O'Driscoll and Leah Power. And to end the day on a high note we played Just Dance!
Overall the event was a great success, with Transition Year students slow to go home given the fun they had.
