"In a Lifetime "
IN A LIFETIME
This time of Covid-19 has turned out to be one of the most extraordinary things many of us will live through. Hopefully a once in a lifetime event. But what will we remember of it?
‘In a lifetime’ honours and celebrates the positive life experiences of a group of older people from across West Cork. Through the project, they share stories and wisdom from their lifetime that we can all learn from, at a time where the narrative around older people is about their vulnerability to infection. Here we celebrate their lifetime experiences, wisdom and resilience, that enriches their families and communities in West Cork.
TY Student Involvement
We want to involve Transition Year Students in the project by inviting them to chat with an older relative, trusted neighbour or someone in their close family circle and capture some of their life experiences. This can be done by phone/video call in accordance with public health restrictions. Students will be provided with template questions and guidance to assist with capturing the stories/experiences. Support with the project for students and TY Coordinators will be provided by Ita Murphy, Coordinator of the Wellbeing Network, West Cork. ita.murphy@nln.ie
