Clonakilty an Autism Friendly Town: A First For Ireland
Transition Year students attended a talk given by Catherine O Connor and Elaine Mc Goldrick of Clonakilty Autism Friendly Town Committee on Wednesday, October 13th.As a result, a group of students led by Saoirse Frank will meet with other members of the committee, to discuss their ideas ,on how awareness can be increased about the challenges of Autism among young people.
Clonakilty was designated with Autism Friendly status by AsIAm during the summer of 2018
This marks Clonakilty as the first autism friendly town in Ireland and marks one major step in the on-going partnership between Adam Harris, Founder of AsIAm, Middletown Centre for Autism, and SuperValu who, together, are committed to raising understanding and awareness of autism in communities across Ireland.
