SHSS celebrates its Multiculturalism

A fantastic multiculturism day was celebrated at Sacred Heart last Friday. Sean Óg O’ Halpin was the guest speaker with Eileen Sheppard, town mayor, Senator Noel O’ Donovan, Noreen Minihan, Shiela Gilbert, Eilish McGrath and past pupil Claire Foyle all in attendance and contributing to the occasion. Students from over 26 different nationalities presented, speeches were made, friendship balloons released and a tree planting ceremony took place. Students from our Trad Irish group provided the musical entertainment to what was a wonderful occasion. Many thanks to Ms. Hennessy for coordinating the celebration.
