Role of the Student Council and Student Voice in SHSS

The Student Council has played an important role in our school for a significant number of years but have you ever wondered what being on the Student Council means? Here some of the current members provide some insights into the role of the Student Council in Sacred Heart in 2024.

Perhaps most significantly, in recent years the Student Council and Student Voice groups set up an email account yourvoice@sacredheartclonakilty.ie which goes directly to Mr Walsh and Ms Brosnan. Students can use this email address to communicate any concerns, worries or fears they may have about themselves or others in a confidential way.

Ms Meade, mentor for the student voice groups in Sacred Heart, wants everyone to know that, as members of our school community, ‘you have a voice, your voice matters and don’t be afraid to use your voice’. For students who want to contact your student representative you can touch base with the students in person or DM the Student Council directly on @studentcouncilshss 1st years:
