Science Week 2024 (November 11th - 15th)

Monday 11th November

1st Year Science Poster Competition

- Announce Science Poster Competition on the intercom

- All Poster in for Thursday, winner announced on Friday

Scientist Scavenger Hunt

- Each day clues will be given to the students over the intercom

- The students must look around the school to match the given pieces of information

from that day to the correct scientist

- Students must then put their answer on a piece of paper with their name on it and

place it in the science box outside the white house

- They will be a prize given to the winner of each day

Tuesday 12th November

“Career Chats” with Shanice Griffin in DreamSpace at Microsoft

- LIVE virtual event for Secondary School Students on Tuesday 12th November

10:00-10.40am.

- This free live-streamed careers guidance event is perfect for classrooms across

Ireland to get involved in an interactive discussion with digital creator Shanice Griffin

and special-guests working within the fast emerging Irish Space Sector. Join us to

find out more about the journey and inspiration leading to their studies and careers.

Wednesday 13th November

Science show in GPR

- Students get to watch and participate in some fun science experiments

Thursday 14th November

Science Club

- Due to the Talent Show taking place on the Tuesday Science club will be on

Thursday instead

- There will be a fun science quiz open to all students

- Starting at 1:25 in the GPR

- Prize for the winning team

Friday 15th November

- All winners for the poster competitions will be given their prizes
