First Year Hockey Win

The first year hockey team got their next match underway at home after the second year’s victory. They faced Mount Mercy in a challenge match. Tip off started with the girls first line up of 11. The girls played super, with great defensive work and great use of the width of the pitch. The girls also had great chances in the forwards but didn’t manage to convert, so the first half ended 0-0. Then the new team of a different 11 girls headed out to face the second half in the rain. The rain kept coming down but the girls stayed consistent and got their goal scored by Grace Forristal. They held their defence and midfield really well and prevented any attacks from Mount Mercy. The girls put excellent pressure on and won many short corners. In the end it finished 1-0 to SHSS, a super result for the girls as they get used to playing the full pitch. Well done to Ms McEvoy and all involved.
