BT Young Scientist 2023

*BT Young Scientists & Technology Exhibition 2024*
Today January 10th marks the start of the 60th BT Young Scientists & Technology exhibition in the RDS Dublin

4 of our TY students made the journey after an early start to join over 600 other student from across the island of Ireland, in show casing their discoveries, inventions and research in 5 different categories of Science and Technology.

SHSS is proud to have two groups participating this year:

Aoibhinn O’Flynn and Bonnie Hegarty O’Brien completed their project entitled *
*Blue Light Glasses: True or Rubbish** in the Health and Wellbeing category.
They investigated whether or not Blue Light glasses work to improve the length and quality of sleep and why this is important for teenagers.

Ella O’Sullivan and Ellen Meade completed their project entitled:
*Honey It’s Fake* in the Biological & Ecological sciences category.
They investigated whether honey on the market is fake and has been adulterated either directly or indirectly.

We wish the girls every success in the competition and most importantly to enjoy such a wonderful experience that the BT Young Scientist and Technology exhibition presents to them..
Special thanks the Mr. Gearoid O’Donovan who mentored the students and Ms Helen Shanahan for accompanying them! #shss #aschoolforall #choosewell #stem #womeninstem #btyoungscientist2023 @btyste
