SHSS Spotlight - Kate Nolan

TY journalist, Moya Knowles, caught up with Kate Nolan for a chat.

Tell us a bit about yourself?

I am Kate Nolan, I am 17 years old. 

What sport do you play?

I play rugby, football and camogie, and I do surf lifesaving.

What is your great achievement to date?

Making Munster U18 and U20 and winning camogie All Irelands.

What position do you play?

In rugby i play centre number 12 and wing number 14 or 11.

Who is your role model?

My role model would be Garry Ringrose or TJ Reid.

How often do you train?

I train most days or every second day.

What is your go to pre match food?

Probably a protein bar or Lucozade or fruit.

What is the hardest challenge between club and province?

How long it takes to get to training and the intensity is a lot harder with provinces.

How are you juggling sports and 5th year life?

Probably not the best but i try to do my homework in the car!

How have you made an impact on school sport?

Maeve Dowling and I helped set up the school rugby team for the school, and we played our first senior cup match this year. We set up the Rugby Sevens and made it to All Ireland with Mr Barry.
