Ms Susan Gallagher, Parent Representative, Steps Down

This September, Ms Susan Gallagher steps down as a Parent Representative of Sacred Heart Secondary School, a role she has undertaken for the past twelve years.

Susan joined the Parents’ Association in September 2010 and the Board of Management in 2016. Her daughters - Ailbhe, Sadhbh and Caoimhe - are all alumnae of Sacred Heart.

Susan enjoyed her time at SHSS.

“It gave me a sense of belonging and understanding of the operations of the school. The Parents Association kept me informed of developments, gave me a say in changes to policies, and also gave me the chance to meet with other parents to discuss the various challenges faced by our daughters.”

Susan was also involved in fundraising - from comedy shows to clothes collections, from the 5km family run to Christmas bag packing, from helping out on the nights of the SHSS Musical to student enrolments.

“Meeting other parents and the school staff was also a great social outlet,” she adds. “For all new parents joining this year, remember that the years fly past and it is good to get involved.”

We would like to thank Susan for her commitment to the school over the past twelve years.
