SHSS WEEKLY ROUNDUP - Friday 13th May 2022

Ooooooh! Friday 13th! Unlucky for some, but not for us. We had a visit from the Minister for Education, Norma Foley TD. She is really nice - warm, friendly and articulate. Great to see a female Minister!

And now, a roundup of the week at SHSS.

Best news of the week:  3 weeks to the summer holidays. Is it dragging or is it just me? 

Victory of the week: The Senior C hockey team who won the league final! Amazing! 

Ministerial visit of the week : The Minister for Education, Norma Foley TD, no less! Only a couple of weeks after Minister Simon Harris. Maybe Michael D might pop down to see us? Wouldn’t that be so cool? 

Chefs of the week (1): The third years who did their practicals last week. The photos of the food looked delicious.

Chefs of the week (2) : The fifth years who made cheesecake. Yummy!

Rowers of the week : Kelly and Moya in Ghent. Very impressive! 

Entrepreneurs of the week : TY mini company, Squiggly Beads, who won a student enterprise award. 

Podcast of the week: Flor MacCarthy, journalist and writer. Check it out when it’s published.

Musicians of the week: Eavan and Charlotte for their piano playing in the GPR today.

Hockey leaders of the week: The TYs who did a training session with the primary school kids! 

School tour of the week: The first year day out today. Climbing walls, shopping, bunnies. It all looked fab!
