SHSS WEEKLY ROUNDUP - 8th April 2022

It’s Easter! Hallelujah! No school for two weeks. Fifth years and a handful of 6th years are heading to Paris tonight! The sun is shining! 

And now, a roundup of the week at SHSS.

Best news of the week:  It’s Easter! Eggs, sleep-ins, binge watching. Relaxation!

Respect of the week: All the 6th years who have orals and practicals. Best of luck!

Heroes of the week : The Senior C football team who WON THE ALL-IRELAND! We had a fab assembly in the gym with a sound system and all!

Chefs of the week: Ms O Regan’s Spanish students who made tortillas! Yum. 

 Nutritionists of the week: Tea, Alanah and Jane at DCU. Originally a project for BT Young Scientist, kudos to Ms Holland for all the prep and mentoring. Great to see the project go on to get an award at the PE XPO with Mr Cronin. 

Boffin of the week : Orlaith Dineen who took part in the Chemistry Olympiad Ireland competition. 

Most energetic of the week: All the year groups who took part in the 5k run for Marymount. Well done!

Future Ploughing Queens of the week: The Angus girls at Croke Park!

Yummiest day of the week:  Today! All the staff got Easter eggs from management. 

Benchballers of the week: The second years in the gym!

Gardeners of the week: Shauna and Jennifer and Peadog. 

Most glam of the week: The Class of 2020 at their belated Debs last Sunday. 

Podcast of the week: Declan McCarthy talked to us about the Arts. Very cool. 

Mathematicians of the week: Mr Kiely’s first years who took part in the Junior Maths competition.

Geologists of the week: Mr Mulcahy’s 6th years who went to Manch investigating a tributary. 

Victors of the week: The Junior B hockey team! Woohoo!
