Opening of SHSS School Bank - Cáit O'Mahony

“The Official School Bank Opening was held last Friday, the 4th of February 2022, at Sacred Heart Secondary School. It was an exciting day for the nine TY students: Cliona O’Brien (Bank Manager), Deirdre O’Neill (Audit Manager), Sinéad Kingston, Lucy Collins, and Niamh Dinneen (the Marketing Team) and Ellen O’Donovan, Alice White, Cáit O’Mahony, and Alannah Oldham (the Customer Service Team), who have been preparing for this moment over the past couple of weeks! 

The School Bank Team invited Martina O’Brien, a local sports star, who has captained the Cork Seniors and won four All Ireland medals, to open the bank in Sacred Heart. They also invited Máire McCarthy and Jerry Shorten, the manager and mortgage adviser from the Bank of Ireland branch in Clonakilty, and were very grateful that they could all attend. 

The School Bank ran from 12.30 to 2.00 in the Upper Social Area, and sixteen student accounts were opened. The School Bank team is delighted with the progress they made and hopes to open the School Bank once a week during lunchtime.”
