Congratulations, Ambassador Collins!

Past pupil, Frances Collins, presented her credential letters from President HIggins and Simon Coveney TD to Pope Francis in the Vatican’s Apostolic Palace yesterday. We are proud to say that she is now Ambassador of the Holy See!

Ambassador Collins was preivously Vice Director of the Disarmament and Non-Proliferation section at Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs. Before that she worked as Vice Head of Mission at the EY DElegation to South Sudan, as Second Secretary at Ireland’s embassy in Uganda, and as a desk officer for the Department of Foreign Affairs in Dublin.

We caught up with Frances this time last year to take part in our SHSS Alumnae Link series. She graduated from Sacred Heart in 1999. Have a read here:

We wish her the best in her new role over in the Vatican.
