The Arrival of the Beebox!

Sacred Heart is delighted to have a new ‘Sustainability’ area located near the fifth year prefabs. Created by TY Year Head, Mr Rob Barry, it’s a place where students can learn about beekeeping, keeping chickens and growing vegetables. It links into the TY Sustainability Module, an innovative and valuable addition to the curriculum.

‘It’s sign of a nice day when the bees are out,’ said Mr Barry.

What a beautiful day it was!

The two beehives are the first addition to this new area on the school campus. We look forward to seeing more of them in the coming months! SHSS will be a hive of activity.

So, what will teachers say to students from now on? Bee-hive yourself!

(Sorry - no more puns)

(But we must name the queen Bee-yoncé)
