Clonakilty Playground and Skatepark fundraiser.

SHSS has been asked to share the following initiative.

A fundraising campaign to develop a new skatepark and playground in Clonakilty is underway. In recent times the playground has fallen into some disrepair The new initiative would extend the existing site to accomodate a skatepark as well as a fully refurbished playground.

It is a challenging time to commence a fundraising campaign. In addition there are several applications for public/philanthropic funding underway. However, it will also require a significant community contribution. To that end, a series of virtual events over the coming months will take place, beginning with the following:

- St. Patrick’s Day Challenge. Can Clonakilty walk/run/cycle/scoot/skate 1000km collectively on St. Patrick’s Day? Participants are asked to wear green and post their progress on our Facebook page to meet the target? Prizes will be awarded for the longest journey and the best costume. Suggested donation of €5 per child and €10 per adult to our fundraising page
- Easter Sunday virtual egg hunt. We have created special boxes for families to enjoy their own Easter egg hunts at home. These will go on sale shortly in the Londis in Clonakilty, and at the Clonakilty Farmer’s Market on Good Friday. Please share your pictures/stories of your Easter egg hunt on our Facebook page.

Please support the events, or alternatively you can also donate directly at: https://www.ifundraise.ie/6098_clonakilty-playground-and-skatepark.html To find our more about the events visit our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Clonakilty-Playground-103410101264368/
