School to remain closed on December 8th due to storm Barra.

The Department of Education has advised schools in multiple counties to close tomorrow to give time to assess the impact of Storm Barra.

In a statement this evening, it said: "The Department is advising that all schools that are currently or forecast to be in a Red or Orange alert area should remain closed tomorrow, 8th December.

"This includes counties Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Limerick, Clare, Galway, Mayo and Wexford."

As a result of this advice, Sacred Heart Secondary School will remian closed on December 8th.
