Another crazy week! School is so busy with hockey, football, baking cakes, Junk Kouture preparation, making student bank TikToks, TYs getting letters published in the Star, show rehearsals, basketball tournaments...
Everyone is STILL flat out.
And now, a roundup of the week at SHSS.
Chefs of the week: Ms Harte’s first years with their delicious lemon cheesecakes.
Best news of the week: Christmas is only 5 weeks away. Bring on the turkey, the chocolates, the presents, the sleep-ins.
Victors of the week (1) : The SHSS Hockey team who beat Ballincollig!
Victors of the week (2): The SHSS Basketball team who defeated Kinsale!
Heroes of the week : The Student Council who distributed the hand sanitiser donated by Shannonvale Foods around the school.
Superstar of the week: Orlaith Deasy who played in the U17 FAI Cup Final. Amazing!
Couturiers of the week: The Junk Kouture teams who are busy creating beautiful gowns and outfits from sustainable material. Can’t wait to see the end result.
Artists of the week (1): It’s the TY Art students again. They are creating beautiful sets for the upcoming musical, Sister Act. Can’t wait to see it!
Artists of the week (2): The 6th years who drew posters for Stand Up Awareness Week.
Most energetic students of the week: The first years who took part in the Football Blitz!
Athletes of the Week: Lucy and Olive O’Flynn who came first in the Cork County B x Country in Midleton! Usain Bolts, the two of them.
Exciting news of the week: The Toy Show is on next Friday! Get that tin of Roses out.
TikTok of the week: OMG, it has to be that Harry Potter one where Harry is the third wheel called Steve. Hilarious.
Talk of the Week: The Agricultural Science talk from past pupil, Clíonadh Condon, and APB Bandon!
Musical theatre stars of the week: The cast of Sister Act. The snippets we’ve seen look brilliant!
Boffins of the week: Jane, Alannah and Téa for experimenting on TYs this week. All in the name of science! #BTYoungScientist
