Online Science Event for 5th and 6th Years!

5th and 6th year Biology and Chemistry students participated in a Zoom event as part of Science Week 2020.

Irish Water and CIT joined forces in delivering an online information event for schools about the Science of Water Analysis. They also communicated possible employment opportunities for students with an Environmental Science qualification, specifically in the area of water analysis.

The event included an introductory 10 min clip on water treatment from the ‘Story of Water ‘ video. Then there was a CIT talk about analytical and process instrumentation, outlining what 3rd level science looks like and a demo of a practical experiment. An Irish Water talk followed this. An Irish Water engineer discussed possible careers and gave a practical example of how the experiment demonstrated by CIT lab has been used in Irish Water. Finally there was Q&A session.
