Halloween Dress Up Day a MONSTER Success!
Huge thanks to the Student Council for organising a Halloween Dress up Friday for the last day of term. A record number of staff and students donned costumes and took part in the fun. The corridors were filled with monsters, Kardashians, ghosts, witches, and even M&Ms. It was a great morale boost during these challenging times.
Ms Holland and Mr Pegler won ‘Best Dressed Teachers’ for their hilarious costumes of a Whoopee cushion and a Viking respectively. The first year prize went to the ‘7 Dwarfs’. The second year effort was a group called ‘The Kardashians’, ranging from Kim to Khloé. The third years who won ‘Best Dressed’ were Ava Murray and Niamh McCarthy as Mario and Luigi. The TY gong went to Mary Murphy, Holly Collins and Katie Hearne and the fifth year prize was a sole winner: Claire Murphy. Finally, the winning Leaving Certs were Leanne Sheehy and Jessica O’ Driscoll.
Ghost costumes were extremely popular this year. Ms O’ Connell looked fabulous as Miss Havisham. Other highlights were Ms O Flynn’s striped tights (soooo Wizard of Oz), Mr Barry’s uncanny resemblance to Frankenstein, Ms Harrington’s little dog in her handbag, and of course, the Crayolas in Leaving Cert. There were many more wonderful and creative costumes. Well done to all who took part!
