Junior camogie record win over Coachford.

Sacred Hearts Junior camogie team kept up their 100% record today when they defeated fellow Cork school Coachford Community by 5-5 to 1-5 at Ahamilla in The Munster Junior A championship. Played in glorious sunshine but with a cold breeze from left to right Coachford started the brightest and had 1-2 on the board before Clon kicked into gear. A long delivery from the excellent Caoimhe Murphy was fielded by Eimear O Brien who offloaded to Katie O Driscoll, Katie made no mistake, finishing to the back of the net and Sacred Heart were up and running.

Sacred Heart added a second goal on the stroke of Half time through Eimear O Brien to level the game at the short whistle, 1-4 2-1.

What a transformation in the second half as Clon thundered into the game and restricted Coachford to just a solitary point . Orlaith Deasy rattled in two goals and Katie added her second as Sacred Heart opened up clear daylight between the teams. Final score 5-5 1-5

The workrate and determination of the Clon girls was superb as they now move on to play reigning All Ireland ‘A’ champions St Angela’s from Waterford next Monday once again at Ahamilla.
