Welcome the "5 for Life" run into Clonakilty!

 “5 for Life” is a fundraising campaign, the brain child of seven ladies from West Cork, five of whom are doing a run from Tarbert to Goleen (330km) June 20th – 23rd. The five, Carolyn, Emma, Gill, Karen & Nuala are raising funds for Marymount and Bantry Hospices and West Cork Feel Good Youth Programme. 

The run will arrive in Clonakilty on June 22nd and a welcome reception of refreshments and a raffle will be held at the Parish Centre at 3pm on the day. This is being organised by the West Cork Youth Mental Health Committee led by Deirdre Collins Chaplain, of Clonakilty Community College and Rosemarie Sexton Guidance Counsellor at Sacred Heart Secondary School who do a lot of work supporting young people’s mental health in the course of their work. West Cork Youth Mental Health links all schools in West Cork to run mental health workshops and programmes. The "5 for Life" group feel very strongly about supporting the youth of West Cork and would like the money they raise to benefit the young people of West Cork.  The committee is delighted to be the recipient of some very welcome funds as result of the efforts of this group of energetic ladies. Minister Jim Daly and the Mayor of Clonakilty have been invited to attend to acknowledge the efforts to supporting these very worthwhile

 

If anyone would like to run in to the town with the 5 ladies they can meet them at St Mary's Cemetery (near Fernhill) Clonakilty at 2.30
