School Basketball Teams commence season!

Our Senior and U16 Basketball teams will kick off their competitive season this Tuesday when they travel to take on local rivals Mount St Michael in Rosscarbery. Both teams will play five games in an opening round robin with the top two teams qualifying for County Quarter Finals. The U16s have been working hard over the last couple of weeks and they are keen build on the improvements they made last season. 

Meanwhile our Senior team will be looking to continue to blaze a trail for our younger girls to follow. Three years ago, as 1st years they resurrected Basketball as a competitive sport in SHSS. They have qualified from their group every year but they will be up against it this year. While our team is made up entirely of TY students the official grade is U19 so they will be competing against older and more experienced teams. No doubt they will rise to the challenge. 

In preparation for the season they recently hosted a challenge game against St Peters Passage which they won.
