Young Scientist Success for TY students at the BT Young Scientist competition.
Well done to Fionnuala Garvey and Niamh Kiely for their second place in the Chemical, Physical & Mathematical Category, at the BT Young Scientist competition.
Their Project title was,
"What makes sudoku puzzles vary in difficulty:
Many people think that the difficulty of these puzzles are defined by the amount of clues: however this is not entirely true (although there is a correlation between the difficulty of a puzzle and the number of clues it contains). We established that sudoku's difficulty is measured by the level of human inference required. This refers to the techniques applied by an individual to solve the puzzle."
