SUMMER HOLIDAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The greatest day of the year! It took forever, but we’re finally at the end. Long summer days stretch ahead of us. Get in.

And now, a roundup of the LAST week at SHSS 2021/2022.

Best news of the week: Summer hols are upon us. Hollybops a gogo. Yippee!

Donation of the week: 3A and the Religion Department who raised lots of money for SVP. Well done!

History trip of the week : Ms O Donovan’s third years who went to Michael Collins House and then for a jaunt around historical spots in Clon. The sun was shining - what a day!

Downside of the week: The exams. A necessary evil.

Event of the week : Wednesday was June 1st - the beginning of Pride Week 2022. Celebrate acceptance. Be yourself with pride.

Podcast of the week (1): Flor MacCarthy’s interview about presidents, French, journalism, and Pierce Brosnan. Check out the SHSS Podcast, lads. It’s so good.

Podcast of the week (2): The amazing Mrs Minihan. A fantastic piece of social history. A must listen.

Exciting news of the week : The school trip to Rome in 2023 is in motion. Deposits are being paid. It will be bellissima! Pompeii, the Colosseum, the Sistine Chapel. Sunshine. Pizza. Gelato. We can’t wait!

Best news of the week: Did I mention that we’re on holidays for 3 months?

Talk of the week: The Garda talk on substance abuse in the GPR.
